Hakkında

Nestled along the Chittagong Kaptai road, in the Raojan district of the Chittagong Division of Bangladesh, the Hachi Fakir Jame Mosque welcomes worshippers from a green and hilly corner of the country. Chittagong is the great maritime gateway of Bangladesh, a port city whose harbour has received traders from Arabia, Persia, China, and Southeast Asia for more than a thousand years, and whose hinterland includes the Hill Tracts, a mosaic of forests, rivers, and indigenous cultures. Islam reached the region as early as the ninth century through Arab and Persian merchants, and its deeper spread is associated with the arrival of teachers from the Middle East during the medieval period.

The name Hachi Fakir is held in local memory with affection. Fakirs in the Bengali tradition are devout persons who renounce worldly comfort, devote themselves to remembrance of God, and wander from village to village teaching simple piety. Many communities in Bangladesh trace their conversion or their early religious instruction to such humble figures, and mosques named after them preserve the gratitude of the people they once served. Worshippers in Raojan still tell stories of the kindness and quiet wisdom of the man whose name this jame mosque bears.

The building follows the typical Bengali rural mosque pattern. A rectangular prayer hall with pointed arches, walls painted in soft green and white, a tall central dome flanked by two smaller ones, and a single minaret rising above the ricefields and betel gardens of the surrounding area. On Fridays the jumuah khutbah fills the hall and spills into the open veranda, while during Ramadan the nightly tarawih prayers are accompanied by the long, unhurried recitation of the Qur'an in the beautiful Bengali style that pauses slightly between each verse.

This page provides accurate daily prayer times for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha at the Hachi Fakir Jame Mosque in Raojan, together with its address, a clear location map, and notes that help local villagers, students attending the madrasas of Chittagong, travellers on the road to Kaptai Lake, and guests from abroad to attend congregational worship here with confidence, sharing in the warm hospitality for which Bangladeshi Muslim villages are rightly celebrated.
