Hakkında
In the suburb of Lanstrop on the northern edge of Dortmund, Ibadullah Camii — Türkisch Islamischer Kulturverein serves the Turkish Muslim community of the area as both a mosque and a cultural association. The name Ibadullah means "the servants of Allah," a Qur'anic term of deep humility, and the building carries that sense of modest service in how it presents itself to the wider neighbourhood. Lanstrop is not a glamorous part of the city; it is a working suburb with blocks of apartments, small businesses, and families who have lived here for two or three generations since their grandparents arrived from Anatolia. The mosque serves them with daily prayers on schedule, Friday jumu'ah in Turkish, weekend Qur'an classes for the children, and a full programme of Ramadan activities including iftar, teravih, and itikaf on the final nights of the month. The cultural association arm of the organisation runs language classes, legal and bureaucratic advisory sessions for migrants, and cultural events marking Turkish and Islamic holidays. Friday sees the hall fill with men arriving from the surrounding apartments and workplaces; Sunday mornings see it fill again with children arriving for mektep classes, accompanied by parents who stay for a glass of tea in the back room. The mosque committee, elected from among the older members of the community, maintains the building, pays the utility bills, and fundraises for major repairs. The women's section is well used and has its own programming, including a weekly mevlid circle and a khatam Qur'an that marks major life events. The Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said that whoever builds a mosque seeking the face of Allah, Allah will build for him the like of it in Paradise, and the uncles and aunties who pooled their paychecks decades ago to establish this centre quietly hold that promise in their hearts. For the Turkish Muslims of Lanstrop, Ibadullah Camii is a lifeline. The bill for the building's heating in January alone would make most visitors flinch, and yet every year the Lanstrop community somehow manages to pay it, paycheck by paycheck, in the quiet determination that keeps a mosque alive through a Ruhr winter.
