Gracing the port city of Chittagong in southeastern Bangladesh, Hazrat Neyamat Ali Shah Jame Masjid honours a beloved spiritual figure whose name is still spoken with affection across the hills and riverbanks of the region. Chittagong, whose Bengali name Chottogram carries ancient echoes of a busy trading delta, has been a gateway to the Indian Ocean world for more than a thousand years.
