Hakkında

Located within the YPI Badril Huda educational foundation in Besuki of East Java, Masjid Ali bin Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, honours the cousin and son in law of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, and the fourth Rightly Guided Caliph whose courage, knowledge, and eloquence the community cherishes deeply. Ali, may God be pleased with him, embraced Islam as a young man, endured persecution alongside the Prophet in Makkah, distinguished himself in the early battles, preserved crucial Qur'anic transmissions, and served as caliph during years of great difficulty. His memory remains forever honoured across the Muslim world. Besuki sits in the Situbondo regency along the northern coast of East Java, a region whose agricultural hinterland produces rice, tobacco, and horticultural crops and whose coastal settlements connect the island's interior with the wider archipelago. East Javanese mosque architecture draws on regional traditions blending Javanese multi tiered roof heritage, Arab and Indian influences transmitted through historic trade, and contemporary concrete construction. This YPI Badril Huda foundation complex typically includes the mosque alongside classrooms, residential spaces for students, administrative offices, and communal meeting facilities. Inside, the carpeted prayer hall accommodates students, teachers, and community members, with a simple mihrab, a wooden minbar, and Qur'anic inscriptions along the upper walls. Five daily prayers punctuate the school day, and Jumu'ah fills the hall with men from the surrounding neighbourhoods. Sermons in Indonesian and Javanese address Qur'anic themes, hadith guidance, and the exemplary life of Ali, may God be pleased with him, whose virtues of knowledge, courage, and steadfast devotion the foundation upholds for its students. Ramadan transforms the educational calendar with intensive religious programmes, communal iftar gatherings featuring Indonesian specialities, taraweeh prayers, and extensive Qur'anic recitation sessions. The foundation runs education at various levels covering Qur'anic recitation, Arabic language, Islamic history, and classical Islamic sciences. Women students and teachers participate in dedicated programmes. Nearby attractions include the Baluran National Park with its savanna and wildlife, the Ijen volcano with its dramatic crater and blue flames, and the coastal fishing towns of the Java north coast.
