Honouring the memory of Abu Saeed al Khudri, may God be pleased with him, a beloved companion of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, this masjid in Aoulef serves the Saharan oasis communities of the Adrar province in southern Algeria. Abu Saeed al Khudri transmitted a vast corpus of prophetic hadith and became one of the most cited authorities in the sciences of tradition, and the dedication reflects the enduring reverence that Saharan Muslims hold for the foundational generation of Islam.
